Where do I log into SOLE?

I am a WVU Medicine employee with a WVU Medicine email address. How do I log in to SOLE?

You will use your WVU Medicine login credentials. It is the same username and password that you use to log in to your e-mail and work computer. If you need to request a SOLE account, please provide a detailed explanation for HSC ITS approval.

Requests can be made by completing the SOLE Account Request form.

How do I request a SOLE account?

ALL HSC faculty and staff are automatically provisioned SOLE accounts once they have been added to WVU Active Directory as part of their on-boarding process. All HSC students are issued SOLE accounts as part of their school orientation process. If a student is taking an HSC course, their account may not be provisioned until the student has been added to the course in SOLE.

For all other SOLE account requests, please provide a detailed explanation for HSC ITS approval. Requests can be made by completing the SOLE Account Request form.

How do I record my lecture?

TechSmith Relay (formally Camtasia Relay) is a lecture captioning tool utilized at HSC that can be used with PowerPoint to easily deliver a fully narrated and animated PowerPoint presentation. It is designed so instructors and presenters can easily record live lectures, learning objects, or presentations and publish them automatically to their SOLE course and sites so that the videos are available in the highest-quality formats for a broad audience.

How do to take a LockDown exam?

The SOLE LockDown Browser is a secure browser for taking exams in SOLE. It prevents users from printing, copying, going to another URL, or accessing other applications during an exam. If an exam has the SOLE LockDown Browser enabled, users will not be able to take the test with a standard web browser. SOLE LockDown Browser should only be used for taking SOLE exams. It should not be used in other areas of SOLE.

In order to take a LockDown exam you must first have the SOLE LockDown Browser installed.

How do I manage Course/Site users?

The first tab within the Control Panel can be used to add and remove users as well as manage the users within the course/site. There will be four tabs near the top of the screen. Use these tabs to access Individual Users, Groups, User Statistics, and User Checkins.
