Faculty and Staff, make sure you are ready for any changes due to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

HSC Seating Chart

A new application in SOLE is now available for site and course administrators to enter seating chart assignments for all fall courses and events. The application will support HSC’s contact tracing efforts in the event of a COVID-19 incident (positive case) and tracing efforts are required.

SOLE Site and Course Administrators should login to SOLE and click on the Classroom Seating Assignment site to enter seating assignment information for your fall courses/events.

Application Overview:

1) Entry forms are available to Site and Course Administrators.

2) Faculty/staff will select the room template via a drop-down box.

  • The room diagram and seating chart will display.
  • Course information will be collected (course name/group, class times, term start and end dates, class mobility status).

3) From the template displayed, faculty/staff will assign each student to a seat by entering the student WVUID or student name by the seat number.

  • The student name, contact phone number and email address will auto display on the form (pulled from BANNER) for faculty/staff to verify correct student assignment.
  • Once all data is entered, faculty/staff will receive an email with a copy of the classroom diagram and seating chart assignment information.
  • The data collected is fully searchable by authorized contact tracing staff in the event of a COVID-19 incident.
  • Courses that are already in session with existing seat assignments should re-enter them using the online form for easy retrieval by contact tracers as positive cases are identified.

Note: Tables/chairs in all HSC classrooms have been labeled with seat numbers for easy reference by students and faculty.

If you have any questions using the Classroom Seating Assignment application, please contact HSC ITS Applications/Web Support Team at solesupport@hsc.wvu.edu or 304.293.2491 opt. 1.
