While preparing your fall courses, you should have a plan in place to deliver course material remotely. Take time now to organize your course material and decide which tools and technology you plan to implement within SOLE, the Learning Management System for Health Sciences.
Choose your technology with an intentional purpose and get comfortable using it, understanding that everything is going to be more complex this fall with additional steps and new classroom norms. There will be a learning curve in these new environments, so be sure to engage often with your students and ask them how things are going.
The Office of the Provost has implemented new guidelines and options to ensure faculty members' success. The Adjustments for COVID-19 webpage includes topics like safe classroom behavior, instructor expectations and quick links to the syllabus statement on PPE, attendance and emergency leave policies. Please review this webpage frequently through the academic year for the latest information.
Continue to review the HSC Contingency Planning and Preparedness website for new information, updates and training offerings.
To assist in preparing faculty for various online teaching modalities, HSC ITS has compiled information to assist you in preparing for the fall semester:
- Feel free to review the material online but also feel free to schedule a group or one-on-one custom training for you or your staff by completing the Remote Teaching Training form, emailing email@example.com or calling 304-293-2491 to schedule. HSC ITS also is available to assist with “practice” sessions to help prepare faculty for the fall.
