SOLE Open Learning Lab for Remote Teaching

Published Wednesday, March 11, 2020

As recently shared, West Virginia University will temporarily suspend in-person classes the week following spring break and then offer online class instruction or other alternative learning options beginning March 30, as it continues to monitor the threat of coronavirus COVID-19.

To prepare for this transition, Application & Web Support Services will be hosting Open Learning Lab training sessions for Remote Teaching at Health Sciences.

What can be learned?

This is an open session where you can learn more about the online tools available to you and ask specific questions about remote teaching.

These tools may be used during any crisis or closure impacting the University as a whole. As such, it is important to be familiar with the HSC Contingency Planning and Preparedness information and that you watch for guidance from the WVU Office of the Provost and also from your college. Additionally, sign up for WVU Alert to receive urgent WVU updates.

Note: These sessions will focus only on available technology to support online learning. Health Sciences students who are involved in clinical rotations and clinical work will receive further guidance from Health Sciences leadership and academic deans.

SOLE Open Learning Sessions Schedule:

Session 1 – Friday, March 13 - 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in LC2 (2912)
Session 2 – Tuesday, March 17 - 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in LC2 (2912)
Session 3 – Thursday, March 19 - 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in LC2 (2912)
