Course Content

About Course Content

Course Content is an object driven Module in a hierarchical navigation structure. A variety of Content Objects can be placed into Course Content.

In order to utilize Course Content, you must have the module activated under the Control Panel's Modules tab.

If you do not see Course Content, it may not be enabled for your course.

Below are Content Object Types that can be found in Course Content

Folder Icon Folder - Create a folder(s) to organize your content in a way that suits your needs.

File - Upload Zip, Word, Excel, graphic files or create an html content page.

Multiformat Icon Multiformat - Add an object in multiple formats. Use when uploading different formats of the SAME file.

Link Icon Link - Add a link to an internal or external file.

Announcement Icon Announcement - Add an Announcement.

 Page - Add an Information Block.

Assignment Icon Assignment - Add an Assignment

Survey Icon Survey Link - Add a link to an existing Survey.

Exam Icon Exam Link - Add a link to an existing Exam.

Chat Icon Chat - Add a Chat Room.

Forum Icon Forum - Add a Forum.

Journal Icon Journal - Add a Journal.

SOLEcast IconSOLEcast - Add a SOLEcast.

Features of Course Content

  • There are multiple ways of navigating through Course Content.
    • Use a "Tree" view in the course's Left Navigation.
    • Use the Main Content Area to navigate through content, similar to the "Tree" view in the Left Navigation.
    • Use "Previous" and "Next" buttons to move from object to object.
    • Use "Breadcrumbs" to see where they are located and track backwards.
  • A "Resume" link which will take them back to the last page they viewed in Course Content.
  • As a Site Administrator, you can set Availability and Effective dates for items in Course Content.
  • View the overall activity reports on Course Objects by user.
  • Search Course Content by: Creator, Date, What's New or Key Word.
