Statistics

Statistics displays usage information for the users within the course/site. This includes the number of logins and number of pages viewed by each student in the course. It also displays users’ last access date/time and offers a “Who’s Online” button that displays all users currently logged into the course/site.

Usage statistics are a good way to gauge student usage patterns, help identify students who are not as involved as they should be, or to identify students who are viewing more pages than the group average and may be confused or need assistance.

Use these statistics with caution. Users who view more pages have not necessarily read more information or spent more time reading content. It is very possible that one student views each page one time thoroughly and is able to remember the information while another must view pages multiple times to digest all the information completely. Since the first student viewed fewer pages, it may seem reasonable to assume he/she is not studying as much as the latter, but this may not be true.
